How to Store Your Electrostatic Sprayer?

Several industries evolve their schedules by season or demand, which requires storing their disinfecting equipment. Such businesses can benefit from knowing how to store cleaning equipment in preparation for future use.

Storing Chemicals

Always check the chemical label, safety data sheet, or manufacturer of your chosen chemical for proper storage requirements. You should keep any cleaning chemicals or disinfectants in a well-ventilated, closed space that isn’t accessible to children or animals—clearly label bulk containers. If you dispense disinfectants into smaller, portable containers or sprayers, ensure these are also clearly marked with the chemical name. Make sure that the label can’t be washed off or easily defaced.

Storing Your Electrostatic Sprayer

When storing the sprayer for extended periods (more than two weeks), the following procedure is recommended to ensure the best performance out of your sprayer. These steps are designed for Victory Innovations electrostatic sprayers.

To help prevent chemical residue or hard water deposits from building up and preventing the sprayer from working:

  • Fill the tank with hot soapy water (use a mild detergent) and spray. If using the 3-in-1 nozzle, cycle through the three different settings and spray each setting for at least thirty seconds to ensure any build-up is removed.
  • Fill the tank with clean water and spray to rinse everything out fully. If using the 3-in-1 nozzle, cycle through the three settings and spray each setting for at least thirty seconds to ensure everything is rinsed out.
  • Remove and drain the tank. Spray the unit without the tank attached until it is no longer spraying to remove any remaining water from the lines.
  • Remove the nozzle.

To ensure battery longevity

  • Store the battery in a temperature-controlled environment. The recommended range is 32°F – 86°F (0°C – 30°C ) and with humidity at 60% RH +/-20%.
  • Do not store the battery in a fully charged state. Storage of a Lithium-Ion battery in a fully charged state increases the stress on the battery pack and can negatively affect the performance over time.
  • Do not store the battery in a completely discharged state for more than one week, as this can start to reduce cycle life and capacity.
  • Charge the battery to 40-60% capacity; this is equivalent to three green lights on the charger.
  • When storing for an extended period of time, check every three months to see if the battery life has dropped below three green lights. If so, charge the battery for a short period until it displays three lights again.
  • Store your sprayer and battery in a secure location away from heavy foot traffic.

After storing your sprayer for an extended length of time

  • Place the battery on the charger to fully charge the battery pack.
  • Install the battery, fill the solution tank and pull the trigger to begin spraying.
  • It may take more than a minute to prime before it begins to spray. If your sprayer still does not spray after several minutes, don't hesitate to get in touch with Victory Customer Care at 800-741-7788 for additional troubleshooting procedures.
